If it's mutual funds you're interested in, there's a new site from the Globe and Mail called GlobeFund which lets you track funds, sort them by various criteria and search the Globe's archives for articles. One of the earliest Canadian fund sites on the Web was Altamira Investment Services, which has a nice site with economic commentary and a look at their portfolio weightings. Trimark Mutual Funds has a fairly well laid-out site, as does AGF. There's also BPI Funds, C.I. Funds, Dynamic Funds, Fidelity and Mackenzie Financial. If you have any comments or additions, feel free to e-mail me.

The Royal Bank's site has some interactive charting features, and links to lots of other financial sites, and Bank of Montreal's First Canadian Funds also has a well-done site. There's also C.I. Funds, Dynamic, Canada Trust's Everest Funds and Investors Group. The Fund Library has a nice feature in Fund Watch, a regular column written by my former Financial Times colleague Rudy Luukko. Another useful product, the mutual fund analysis tools known as BellCharts, have a page of their own here, and Scudder Funds of Canada recently launched a site.

A good central database for mutual funds is The Fundserver site. For U.S. stuff, there are sites like The EDGAR Mutual Funds database, which is a collection of all the filings fund companies have to make to the Securities and Exchange Commission. The government at one point said it was planning to start charging for the database, but they apparently changed their minds. American fund giant Fidelity Investments also has some info, and there's a site belonging to Mutual Funds Magazine as well. Intuit, the software company that makes the Quicken financial software series, has a U.S. financial site called Quicken.com and a companion site for Canadian funds and stocks called Quicken.ca. The Closed-End Fund Investor is for those with a special interest in closed-end funds, which trade like stocks.
