{"id":942,"date":"2007-01-30T14:01:18","date_gmt":"2007-01-30T19:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mathewingram.com\/work\/2007\/01\/30\/microsoft-vista-launch-is-cold-as-ice\/"},"modified":"2007-01-30T14:01:18","modified_gmt":"2007-01-30T19:01:18","slug":"microsoft-vista-launch-is-cold-as-ice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mathewingram.com\/work\/2007\/01\/30\/microsoft-vista-launch-is-cold-as-ice\/","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft Vista launch is cold as ice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the more than $500-million worth of advertising and marketing that Microsoft <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2007\/01\/30\/technology\/30soft.html?ex=1327813200&amp;en=3f751090717955cc&amp;ei=5089&amp;partner=rssyahoo&amp;emc=rss\">has been doing<\/a> to promote Vista, the company paid to build a state-of-the-art home made entirely out of ice in the public square at the corner of Yonge and Dundas in Toronto (no doubt they got the idea from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icehotel.com\/\">this place<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.torontoist.com\/archives\/2007\/01\/the_ice_house_t_1.php\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" id=\"image943\" class=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mathewingram.com\/work\/wp-content\/uploads\/IceHouseBed.jpg?w=525\" alt=\"IceHouseBed.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A local blog called Torontoist (part of the placeblogging network started by Gothamist) has some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.torontoist.com\/archives\/2007\/01\/the_ice_house_t_1.php\">pictures and a description<\/a> of the 1,800-square-foot &#8220;home,&#8221; which comes complete with a working ice toilet-paper-holder, an ice bed and even an ice microwave (presumably good for only one use).
