But I don&#8217;t want to be a poor sport, so here are the &#8220;Five Things You Don&#8217;t Know About Me&#8221; (thanks a lot, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fridgebuzz.com\/2006\/12\/blog-tag.html\">Vanessa<\/a>):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>One of my legs is shorter than the other.<\/strong> I had a car accident when I was in university and broke my right leg (I also dislocated my left hip and cracked eight ribs) and after I got out of the hospital it was about half an inch shorter.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><strong>I used to play the guitar<\/strong> and sing folk songs in coffee houses and bars. And very much wanted to be a folk-rock star like my hero and fellow Canadian Neil Young. But the siren song of journalism called.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><strong>My mother once dated Paul Martin<\/strong>, the former Prime Minister. She went to the University of Western Ontario and met him at a social event or something like that. She said he was a good dancer.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><strong>I went to the same high school<\/strong> as Allan Legere, a serial killer from New Brunswick known as the Monster of the Miramichi. We both went to James M. Hill High in the tiny pulp-mill town of Chatham.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><strong>While visiting the quantum super-collider<\/strong> at Los Alamos, I discovered a new particle that was named after me, the Ingramoson (I made that one up just to see if anyone got this far).<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And now, it is my duty to nominate five other people, so here they are: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.robhyndman.com\">Rob Hyndman<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/stuart.blogware.com\">Stuart MacDonald<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.markevanstech.com\">Mark Evans<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelmcderment.com\">Mike McDerment<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/bloombloom.wordpress.com\">Richard Bloom<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"syndication-links\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I hate these blog-tag things.
