{"id":3134,"date":"2008-10-22T13:39:50","date_gmt":"2008-10-22T17:39:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mathewingram.com\/work\/?p=3134"},"modified":"2008-10-22T13:39:50","modified_gmt":"2008-10-22T17:39:50","slug":"the-pc-guy-on-love-and-space-aliens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mathewingram.com\/work\/2008\/10\/22\/the-pc-guy-on-love-and-space-aliens\/","title":{"rendered":"The PC guy on love and space aliens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In my never-ending quest for strange videos that I find amusing, I came across this clip of John Hodgman &#8212; the comedian, author and actor best known as <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_Hodgman\">&#8220;the PC guy&#8221;<\/a> &#8212; and a talk he gave at the last TED conference (I confess that I didn&#8217;t unearth this myself; it came, like so many other fascinating things, from a link at <a href=\"http:\/\/kottke.org\">Jason Kottke&#8217;s blog<\/a>). It&#8217;s kind of about aliens and Enrico Fermi and &#8220;lost time&#8221; and close encounters, but not really &#8212; it&#8217;s actually <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ted.com\/index.php\/talks\/john_hodgman_s_brief_digression.html\">a love story<\/a>, but one that only John Hodgman could tell.
