There&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dankarran.com\/blog\/archives\/2007\/07\/24\/googles_approach_to_crowdsourcing_map_data.php\">transcription of the talk<\/a> and some more details at Dan Karran&#8217;s blog, and the Google Earth blog notes that this approach is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gearthblog.com\/blog\/archives\/2007\/07\/india_maps_in_google.html\">very similar <\/a>to the Open Street Map project &#8212; except of course that OSM is, well&#8230; open.
