I think journalism itself is a dated concept. We are now in the world of conversation. We are talking to ourselves. John Heilemann said it best in his recent column in NY Magazine<\/a> about Murdoch’s designs on the WSJ:<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n

Did anybody at Dow Jones ever contemplate purchasing MySpace? Did
\nArthur Sulzberger or Don Graham? I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know, but I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d wager they
\ndidn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even know what MySpace was. The obvious retort is, Why should
\nthey have? What does social networking have to do with journalism? And,
\nno doubt, a precise answer is hard to conjure. But if you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t believe
\nthat the intermingling of these spheres will be central to how future
\ngenerations consume their news, you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve apparently been sleeping\u00e2\u20ac\u201dand
\nclearly don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have kids.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n

The intermingling of these spheres will be HOW future generations comsume their news. Period. End of story. I learn stuff on Twitter every day that is more profound than many of the blogs I read.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n
