Great piece Matthew....

My perspective on this has always been the same. "Local" as defined by traditional media around geography has to change because most new media consumers don't define their lives by their geography. We are moving to an era of the hyper-personal where 'local' may make up a part of that, however, it is more likely to include information around a person's interest solar system.

That is why more people check their Facebook news feeds than likely any other news source during the day....

Just a thought.

Journalism is conversation. Or it will be more and more. I've been concentrating on building relationships with people in the communities I cover. That sense of community is more important than the 'news and information' maybe.
